Andromax m2s

1. Logging In to the Management Page

Login in to the management page where you can set the parameters of Andromax m2s.
  1. Open a browser and enter http://192.168.1.1 or http://Andromax.m2s in the address bar.
  2. With Enter Key to open the web management page.
  3. Click Login button on top right or any place on web page will pop-up login window. Enter the Username and Password and click Log In button.
Note: The default username and password of the web management page both are admin.

1.1. Connection

To use the Andromax m2s to access the Internet, you must create a network profile or set the default network profile and operator's network.

1.1.1. Creating a Network Profile

You can access the internet with default profile, and you also can create a new profile manually as follow steps.
  1. Click Setting > Network Setting.
  2. Click APN1 from APN drop list.
  3. Input the profile-associated parameters.
  4. Click Apply button.

1.1.2. Accessing the smartfren LTE Network

Use the following method to connect the Andromax m2s to the Internet.
  1. Click Setting > Network setting.
  2. Select Connect Mode
    • Auto
    • Manual
  3. Click APPLY button.
  4. Access the Internet.
Option Description
Auto connection Refresh the page and view the current network connection status.
Manual connection a. Go to Connection page.
b.Click CONNECT button to setup a connection to the Internet.
Note: The default Connect Mode is Auto.

1.1.3. Traffic Statistics

Traffic statistics function records the network traffic and duration of the current connection as well as that since you last restored the Andromax m2s to its default settings.

1.1.3.1. Viewing Traffic Statistics

Traffic statistics provide the network connection duration and traffic generated.
Note: Traffic statistics are provided for your reference only. Accurate traffic records can be obtained from the bill provided by your operator.
  1. Click CONNECTION in the Home page.
  2. View the traffic data.

1.1.3.2. Clearing Traffic Statistics

This section describes how to clear the recorded traffic statistics.
  1. Click CONNECTION in the Home page.
  2. Click Clear History to clear the recorded traffic statistics.
Note: Volume statistics provided here are approximate. For accurate statistics and details of charges refer to your bills.

1.2. Setting

1.2.1. Quick Setting

You can use Quick Setting to change Wi-Fi SSID, Security Mode, Wi-Fi Key and Login Password of Andromax m2s.

1.2.1.1. Setting Wi-Fi SSID

  1. Choose Setting > Quick Setting.
  2. You will see the factory default SSID.
  3. Input new SSID and Click APPLY button.
Note: Wi-Fi will be restarted after setting success.

1.2.1.2. Setting Security Mode

  1. Choose Setting > Quick Setting.
  2. Select Security Mode
    • Open
    • Secure
  3. Input the KEY if necessary, and you can click the "Show Wi-Fi Key" check box to display the Wi-Fi Key or not.
  4. Click APPLY button
Note:
  • If Open Mode is selected, the Wi-Fi Key will not be shown on the page
  • Wi-Fi will be restarted after setting success.

1.2.1.3. Login Password

You can check Login Password here.
  1. Choose Setting > Quick Setting.
  2. Select "Show Password" check box to display Login password.
Note:
  • You can input new value in textbox and click Apply button to change Password.
  • You will Log out at once after change password successfully, and you have to Log in the web management again with new password and old username.

1.2.2. Wi-Fi Setting

The service set identifier (SSID) is a name that identifies a wireless local area network (WLAN). A wireless client (for example, a computer) can communicate with the Andromax m2s properly only when they are using the same SSID. To ensure the WLAN security, do not use the default SSID. You can define an SSID as required

1.2.2.1. Setting Wi-Fi SSID

  1. Click Setting > Wi-Fi Setting
  2. You will see the factory default SSID mentioned above on the device.
  3. Input new SSID and Click APPLY button.
Note: Wi-Fi will be restarted after setting success.

1.2.2.2. Setting Channel

  1. Click Setting> WIFI Setting.
  2. You will see the default Channel is Auto.
  3. Select the appropriate channel for your network from the list.
  4. Click APPLY button.
Note: Wi-Fi will be restarted after setting success.

1.2.2.3. Security Mode

  1. Click Setting> WIFI Setting.
  2. The default Security mode value is WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK.
    Other security mode introduction:
    Option Description
    WEP This is stands for Wired Equivalent Privacy, and support ASCII, you can input 5 or 13 characters.
    WPA-PSK
    WPA-PSK/
    WPA2-PSK
    WPA2-PSK
    These three security modes are the encryption method with keys changing automatically.
    WPA Option You can select TKIP & AES for WPA, and TKIP, AES & TKIP+AES for WPA2. You can input at least 8 digits, 32 digits at most.
  3. The default Security mode value is WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK.
  4. Click APPLY button.
Note: Wi-Fi will be restarted after setting success.

1.2.2.4. Wi-Fi Module

  1. Click Setting> WIFI Setting.
  2. Set Wi-Fi Module.
    • Enable: to enable the Wi-Fi Module.
    • Disable: to disable the Wi-Fi Module.
  3. Click Apply.

1.2.2.5. SSID Broadcast

If the service set identifier (SSID) broadcast function is enabled, the Andromax m2s broadcasts the SSID of the wireless local area network (WLAN) facilitating clients' access to the WLAN. The disadvantage is that unauthorized clients can also access the WLAN. If the SSID broadcast is disabled, the Andromax m2s does not broadcast the SSID of the WLAN. So the SSID must be entered manually and correctly from a client before the client accesses the WLAN. This improves the security of the WLAN.
  1. Click Setting > WIFI Setting.
  2. Set SSID Broadcast.
    • Enable: to enable the SSID broadcast.
    • Disable: to disable the SSID broadcast.
  3. Click APPLY button.
Note: During the process of setting up the WLAN,you can set the SSID broadcast to Enable to facilitate the access from clients.After the WLAN is set up, set the SSID broadcast to Disable to improve the security of the WLAN.

1.2.2.6. Setting Max User

  1. Click Setting> WIFI Setting.
  2. You will see the default Max User is 14
  3. Select the appropriate user number for your network from the list.
  4. Click APPLY button.
Note: Wi-Fi will be restarted after setting success.

1.2.3. Network Setting

You can use Network setting to set Connect Mode, Network mode, and Profile.

1.2.3.1. Connect Mode

  • Auto: Andromax m2s will connect to network automatically after power on.
  • Manual: You have to enter Home page on web management to click CONNECT button to connect with network manually.

1.2.3.2. Profile

Default network setup parameters for Andromax m2s are:
  • Username: smartfren
  • Password: smartfren
  • APN name: smartfren4G
Note: The APN can be created by user and the device will use the user and password that was set by user for internet connection.

1.2.3.3. Ping From Wan

Enable this function, device can accept WAN ping packets, that is used to check whether device and WAN is connected.

1.2.3.4. Remote From Wan

Enable this function, device can be accessed through WAN to configuration management page.

1.2.4. Network Operators

The Andromax m2s supports both automatic and manual network registration.
  1. Click Setting> Network Operators.
  2. Choose Data Roaming as Enable
    • Auto: Andromax m2s searches for an available network and registers with the network automatically.
    • Manual: You need to search for an available network and register with it manually.

1.2.5. Admin Setting

You can use Admin setting to set Login Username and password, Login Time out, Reset Setting and Factory Default Setting.

1.2.5.1. Login Username and Password

Here you can get Login User name and Password. Select "Show Password" check box to display Login password.
You can input new value in textbox and click APPLY button to change User name and Password.

1.2.5.2. Login Timeout

Here you can set the Login timeout, the default value is 5 Min that means the management page will logout automatically in 5min if you don’t do anything. You have to login again if you want to set the parameters of Andromax m2s.

1.2.5.3. Wi-Fi Configuration Reset

You can restore Wi-Fi Setting to factory default settings. The function is same as Reset Button.

1.2.5.4. Factory Default Setting

After you restore the Andromax m2s to its default settings, your personal information will be deleted, and parameters will be restored to factory default values.

1.2.5.5. Setting Device power save

Andromax m2s disable the WLAN when all the following conditions are met: The Andromax m2s is powered by only the battery; no clients access the WLAN for a period of time; no LTE data traffic for a period of time; the idle time exceeds the defined value of device power save . To click power key on device then enable the WLAN.
  1. Click Setting> Admin Setting.
  2. You will see the default device power save setting is off
  3. Select the appropriate time from the list.
  4. Click APPLY button.

1.2.5.7. Enabling the DHCP Server

If the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server is enabled, the Andromax m2s allocates IP addresses to clients connect ed to it.
Context
  • Start IP address, End IP address, and DHCP lease time (s) are available to be set only when the DHCP server is enabled.
  • After the DHCP server is enabled, enable the function to automatically obtain an IP address and a DNS server address from clients.
  1. Choose Setting > Advance > DHCP.
  2. In IP address, enter the IP address of the Mobile WiFi.
  3. In Subnet mask, enter the subnet mask of the Mobile WiFi.
  4. Select Enable to enable the DHCP server.
  5. In Start IP address, enter a start IP address.
  6. In End IP address, enter an end IP address.
  7. In DHCP lease time (s), enter a lease time.
  8. Click APPLY button.
    Note:
    • The start IP address must be smaller than the end IP address.
    • The minimum range from the start IP address to the end IP address is an independent IP address.
Example of DHCP Server Configuration
Enable the DHCP server, and then configure the clients in the local area network to obtain IP addresses in a specified network segment automatically.
  1. In IP address, enter an IP address. For example, 192.168.1.1.
  2. In Subnet mask, enter a subnet mask. For example, 255.255.255.0.
  3. Select Enable to enable the DHCP server.
  4. In Start IP address, enter a start IP address. For example, 192.168.1.100.
  5. In End IP address, enter an end IP address. For example, 192.168.1.200.
  6. In DHCP lease time (s), enter a lease time. For example, 86400.
  7. Click APPLY button

1.2.5.8. Disabling the DHCP Server

If the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server is disabled, the Andromax m2s does not allocate IP addresses to clients connected to it and IP addresses must be entered from each client.
  1. Choose Setting > Advance > DHCP.
  2. Select Disable to disable the DHCP server.
  3. Click APPLY button.

1.2.5.9. Configuring DHCP Clients

If the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server is enabled, certain settings must be configured from clients.
Context
Configuration on a Windows XP operating system is used as an example.
  1. Choose Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Wireless Network Connection.
  2. Right-click the Network Connection icon and choose Properties.
  3. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
  4. In the Network Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
  5. Click OK button

1.2.6. PIN Setting

PIN Settings provides PIN security settings to prevent unauthorized use of the USIM card.

1.2.6.1. Turning On or Off PIN Verification

If PIN verification is turned on, you need to enter the PIN only when the Andromax m2s is turned on. If PIN verification is turned off, no PIN is required.
Choose Settings > PIN setting you can enable or disable the PIN verification.
Context
  • If a PIN is required, enter the correct PIN.
  • If you enter your PIN incorrectly three times consecutively, the USIM card is locked and you must enter the PIN unlock key (PUK).
  • If you enter the PUK incorrectly ten times consecutively, the USIM card is locked permanently. If you cannot enter the correct PIN or PUK, network-associated functions are unavailable.
  • The PIN and the PUK are provided with the USIM card. If you did not receive them or forgot them, contact your service provider.
  1. Click Setting > PIN Setting.
  2. From PIN operation, select:
    • Enable: to turn on PIN verification.
    • Disable: to turn off PIN verification.
  3. Enter the correct PIN.
  4. Click APPLY button.

1.2.6.2. Changing the PIN

If PIN verification is turned on, you can change the PIN.
  1. Click Setting > PIN Setting.
  2. From PIN operation, select Modify.
  3. Enter the current PIN.
  4. Enter a new PIN and confirm the PIN.
  5. Click Apply button.

1.2.7. MAC Filter

You can control and manage the clients that access the wireless local area network (WLAN) to improve the security performance of the WLAN.
  1. Choose Settings > Advance > MAC Filter.
  2. From MAC Filter Mode to select a Media Access Control (MAC) filtering mode.
    • Disable: To disable the function of filtering MAC addresses.
    • Black list: If the MAC address of a client is listed in MAC Address, the client is prohibited from connection to the Andromax m2s over the WLAN.
  3. Select the MAC addresses of the clients to be controlled from user list.
  4. Click Apply button.
Note: any filtering mode to be selected, please make sure yourself can through the filter.

1.2.8. IP Filter

The function to filter IP addresses in the wireless local area network (WLAN), it can be used to restrict the user access to the specific internet services.

1.2.8.1. Enable IP Filter

  1. Choose Settings > Advance > IP Filter.
  2. Select the check box on the left of Enable IP Filter.
  3. Input the IP addresses that you want to restrict, such as: 110.112.243.56
  4. Click Apply button.
  5. Open a browser and enter the IP address that restricted (110.112.243.56) in the address bar. It should can not be opened.

1.2.8.2. Disable IP Filter

  1. Choose Settings >Setting> IP Filter.
  2. Remove the check box checked of Enable IP Filter.
  3. Click Apply button.
  4. Open a browser and enter the IP address (110.112.243.56) in the address bar. It should can be opened.
Note: Please clear the file cache on your browser setting after click Apply button, the ways please reference the URL Filter introduction.

1.2.9. URL Filter

The function to filter URL in the wireless local area network (WLAN), it can be used to restrict the user access to the specific internet services.
Note: Please input the domain that you want to filter, for example if you want to filter Google then you need to put www.google.com or google.com, other format URL cannot be filtered, like: http://www.google.com or https://www.google.com.

1.2.9.1. Enable URL Filter

  1. Choose Settings > Advance > URL Filter.
  2. Select the check box on the left of Enable URL Filter.
  3. Input the URL that you want to restrict. Such as: www.google.com.
  4. Click Apply button.
  5. Open a browser and enter the URL that restricted (www.google.com) in the address bar. It should can not be opened

1.2.9.2. Disable URL Filter

  1. Choose Settings > URL Filter.
  2. Remove the check box checked of Enable URL Filter.
  3. Click Apply button.
  4. Open a browser and enter the URL you want to open in the address bar. It should can be opened.

1.2.10. Port Forwarding

It allows remote computers (for example, computers on the Internet) to connect to a specific computer or service within a private local-area network.
  1. Choose Settings > Advance > Port Forward.
  2. Select the check box on the left of Enable Port Forward.
  3. Select the user info from user list, that Host name and MAC address will add to port forwarding list, but you still have to input Config Name, Local and Wan port by manually. Or you can input all of info by manually.
    Note: Local port can be repeated, WAN port cannot be repeated.
  4. Click APPLY button.
  5. Start the server on the device that added the port forwarding list.
    Note: The server include Web server, ftp server, Web camera server etc.
  6. Access the device started server with the other terminal connected Internet through WAN IP address with WAN port to the device started server. Such as: http://11.22.33.44:8080
  7. The server can be accessed successfully.

1.2.11. DDNS

It is a method of updating, in real time, a Domain Name System to point to a changing IP address on the Internet. This is used to provide a persistent domain name for a resource that may change location on the network.
It will go into effect only when Port Forwarding function enabled.
  1. Choose Setting > Advance > DDNS.
  2. Select the check box on the left of Enable DDNS.
  3. Select one DDNS server from server list.
  4. Input Domain name, Username and Password matched with DDNS server.
  5. Click APPLY button.
  6. Start the server on the device that added the port forwarding list.
    Note: The server including Web server, ftp server, Web camera server etc.
  7. Access the device started server with the other terminal connected Internet through Domain name with WAN port, such as: http://www.no-ip.com:8080.
  8. The server can be accessed successfully.
    Note:
    • Andromax m2s only support follow three DDNS server: no-ip.com; dyndns-ip.com; oray.com.
    • Domain name, Username and Password have to be applied for in special organization by user.
    • If DDNS function enabled, you can get the IP address in real time after click APPLY button.

1.3. Status

1.3.1. Basic Status

You can see the info including Device Status and User List
  • Device Status
    • Network Mode: Display the network mode, it only support LTE network.
    • Network Status: Display connection status currently. Disconnected, Connected,or dormant.
    • WI-FI Status: Display WI-FI status, Power On or Power Off.
    When it is connected, it will show Wan IP and DNS information here.
  • User List
    Here will display the user info that connected to Andromax m2s by Wi-Fi, that including Host name, IP address, and MAC address.

1.3.2. Quick Setting

If you click Quick Setting on Home page, it will jump to Setting page. So please refer to Setting->Quick Setting introduction.

1.4. My smartfren

It will allow the device to open and enter the MY SMARTFREN Web service.
User can see their account information, purchasing data package and etc through the MY SMARTFREN Web service.
